Initially launching in 2019 as a jewellery archive dedicated to avant-garde pieces, experiencing personal exchanges with the late Virgil Abloh and amassing over 42,000 followers, CLEAR cemented itself as a staple reference point for thought provoking jewellery and taste making.
With jewellery embedded in tis founder’s heritage, CLEAR simultaneously honours and reimagines traditional craftsmanship through a semiotic lens. Rooted in the study of signs, symbols, and the communication of meaning, the brand stands out by jewellery as a medium of expression rather than mere decoration. CLEAR translates
human emotion and worldview into a tangible form, crafting pieces that cause wearers to question both themselves and the static world around them. This embodies their core mantra that meaning and form must carry equal weight in jewellery.
In essence, CLEAR is defined by mental precision, intentional design, and
uncompromising control over every detail. This approach allows for the creation of meaningful kinetic art that moves in intricate ways, symbolising the constant change of life, tension, balance and clarity. Focusing on the HH—001 project: balance, duality and layered meaning lie at the heart of its design. The piece gives form to the
opposing forces of light and darkness, capturing their constant battle for equilibrium to echo the duality of humanity and nature. Beginning with a hand-drawn sketch and evolving through mechanical engineering, each stage is guided by a singular vision. This closed creative cycle preserves the essence of CLEAR’s philosophy: jewellery as a language form, rich with meaning and intent.
Looking closely at its design, one circle rests within another, and that one inside a third - intentionally placed to mirror the complex depth in the human experience. The piece the moves in harmony with its wearer, with each shift reflecting life in motion being open to interpretation. This kinetic system transforms the piece into a living sculpture; an expression of inner tension and pursuit of balance through constant motion. Even the website, built on motion, precision and interaction, transforms the
brand’s online space into a digital extension of the piece.
While silver is central to their most recent work, materials like 18k gold, platinum, palladium, diamonds and a variety of unconventional stones are used, each reinforcing the core idea that materials are secondary to the concept of kineticism. Future editions of Heaven — Hell will continue to explore the idea of opposing forces using further material contrasts and high jewellery interpretations to convey new meanings.
Looking toward the next decade, CLEAR envisions expanding into cross-disciplinary kinetic collaborations, cultural exhibitions, and installations across art, fashion and music. These partnerships are intended to foster meaningful creative dialogue with those who share a commitment to intentional design seeking further depth in artistry like Yoon Ahn, Kim Jones, Daniel Arkham and others. In doing so, CLEAR seeks to
establish a new standard where jewellery carries both emotional sentiments as well as intellectual depth, challenging and advancing the limits of mechanical precision and design.
